邓止怡（1920-1982），湖南永兴人。1938年入陕北公学，中共党员。历任歌咏指挥、编辑、民演、演员。解放后，参加四川雅安、西昌专区的民主建政。1954年到苏联学习导演。1959年后任青年艺术剧院导演。其导演的主要剧目有《霓虹灯下的哨兵》、《于无声处》、《曙光》等。
