陈翠嫦（1934～1981）,女，同安区人，生于新加坡。少时就读于上海市向东中学。后在华丰油厂当书记，1954年加入人民行动党，1957年后连任该党中央委员，1957年至年为牛车水区市议员，1959年为立达区国会议员。从政最大贡献是促成《妇女宪章》的制定与推行。
