京釜高速线是韩国高速铁道首条高铁路线。该线于2004年4月1日首段（首尔站至东大邱站段）通车。在2010年11月1日，东大邱站至釜山站段通车，同日金泉龟尾站启用。大田广域市及大邱市市区段预计于2014年通车，首尔特别市市区路段则仍在计划中。现时此三段市区路段及釜山站附近皆以其所平行的京釜线连接。
