采用T-28“多炮塔”中型坦克底盘研发的自行火炮，最初试验时安装的是76.2毫米火炮，而在后期设计时，采用更大口径的榴弹炮作为武器。遗憾的是，因为德国的突然入侵，以及其他型号的竞争，SU-8自行火炮的研制计划被迫终止。
